Several years ago I worked with a team of psychologists who helped clients deal with pain. I was vaguely aware back then of the link between the body and the brain and our ability to use our minds to deal with pain but what I learnt from these lovely ladies just blew me away. It has taken several years but I can now talk, think and relax my way through some forms of pain. Not headaches though. There's ibuprofen for that.
Did you know that pain comes entirely from the brain? Want to know more about how to deal with pain in the short and long term? Watch this five minute cartoon produced by Hunter Medicare Local (Australian accent , yay!) to see the brain, body, mind and pain system in action. You'll learn something. I did.
Do you use your brain to deal with pain? Tell me, tell me!
